First things first, we’re proud to be from the North. We’re equally proud to shout about other agencies, industry experts and those pushing the boundaries to demonstrate courageous creativity, improve human connections and understand proof of value up North.
So, here’s a round-up of some highlights from November!
- Two Yorkshire firms have been named among the fastest-growing technology companies in the UK. Harrogate-based Chameleon Technology and Leeds-based BigChange have been named as winners in the Deloitte 2018 UK Technology Fast 50 awards. The awards recognise and rank the 50 fastest-growing technology companies in the UK, based on the last four years of revenue data. The winners were the only Yorkshire based-businesses to make the top 50 so it’s an even more admirable result and great proof of value!
- December 1st marks Small Business Saturday and Manchester based clothing store Sofi’s is backing the campaign, which urges shoppers to support independent shops. Sofi’s is one of the longest standing independent retailers at the Stretford Mall and owner Yusif Patel explained that many of his customers have become friends over the years, emphasising the importance of human connections to his business. Yusif believes that ‘…you don’t get that kind of personable service with larger chains…’.
- It’s no secret that the size of the average UK home has decreased since its peak in the 1970’s. In direct response to this trend two Newcastle based entrepreneurs Paul Marsh and Colin Ibberson have joined forces to launch Hudel Living, a new online furniture store dedicated to selling courageously creative space-saving furniture designed by the duo; watch out Ikea!
- Uniform, a Liverpool based creative design agency have launched a co-working space aimed at creative, digital and tech enterprises in the city, aiming to become one of its key creative and design hubs. The location looks set to deliver Uniform’s mission to collaborate and better connect Liverpool’s creative community with its first bi-annual student illustration competition kicking off this month. The competition challenges local creative students to animate the boardwalk entrance space, with the winner’s design becoming a permanent feature.
Another fabulous month for the North and these stories were only a few of our favourites!
