Proudly Northern December Edition

31st December, 2018

First things first, we’re proud to be from the North. We’re equally proud to shout about other agencies, industry experts and those pushing the boundaries to demonstrate courageous creativity, improve human connections and understand proof of value up North.

So, here’s a round-up of some highlights from December!

  • Yorkshire homeless charity, Simon on the Streets, has launched a campaign with a focus on improving human connections to raise awareness of rough sleeping during the festive season. In partnership with Imagine If Theatre Company, students from Leeds Arts University and MacComms PR agency, the charity has produced a short film with an aim to encourage the public to empathise with rough sleepers during the Christmas period.
  • A Newcastle-based SEO agency has picked up its second UK Search Award in two years. Evolved Search, a specialist Search Marketing agency based in The Toffee Factory, won the award for Best Use of Search (B2C), for their work with online retailer Mattress Online. This is a real accolade as they were the only North East agency to pick up one of the prestigious awards, which celebrates the best in Search Marketing across SEO, PPC, Content and Outreach/PR.
  • Two Liverpool entrepreneurs are celebrating after risking it all on a new courageously creative app – and six months later their project has generated a six-figure turnover. In a few short months Expert Apps, which provides a social media style app platform for experts in a range of niche areas to monetise their knowledge, has generated a turnover of £220,000 for co-founders Darren Galvin and Danny Webster. This is a great example of courageous creativity being used to  improve human connections, prove value more efficiently and help others to succeed.
  • Directors and business owners from more than 70 companies attended the recent launch of the Manchester Business Catalyst Club. The invitation-only “dealmaker” lunch events are designed to deliver added value to new and existing business relationships, bringing together entrepreneurs, investors and decision makers to share new and exciting business opportunities with like-minded people at the right level. Initially launched in Leeds, the Business Catalyst Club has now expanded into Manchester following a huge demand from businesses across the North West.
Big up the North for coming together to improve human connections and prove value!

Another fantastic month for the North, here’s to more great news in 2019!
